August's Cleaning Goal

So I realized that I completely forgot to post this month's cleaning goal.  I have been so busy trying to get the house more organized, playing with the kids and getting ready for the baby that I have been a little forgetful.  Here is August's Cleaning Goal.

July's Monthly Cleaning Goal

Here is July's Monthly Cleaning Goal.  I'm going to use this to also get everything organized and probably decorate some of the rooms since we are still getting settled in our new house.

Tennis Ball Leg Chair Covers

We moved last Monday and spent the rest of the week getting settled.  When we were cleaning up our old place we noticed that there were some spots on the floor that were scratched a little bit from the chairs.  Also one of my son's favorite things to do is push the chairs around and its really loud so we were looking for a way that would take care of both things.  I remembered seeing at a friend's house when I was younger that they had tennis balls on the legs of all of their chairs.

So we went to the store and bought enough tennis balls for the chairs.  Then I came home and went right to work.

I used scissors.  I opened them and then used the more pointy blade and pierced it into the ball.  (The first ball I did I was a little unsure how hard to push then it became easier.)  From there I cut a cross shape.

Then I pushed each ball onto each of the legs on the chairs.

It is so quiet sitting down at the table now.  We are loving it.

Cleaning the Microwave

So I'm in the midst of packing and cleaning the house so we can move on Monday.  I was taking a minute to relax and found a idea on pinterest.  It said to put a couple cups of water with a couple tablespoons of vinegar in a microwave safe bowl and put it on high for 5 minutes.  Then wipe it clean.  I figured I need to clean the microwave and I have a few minutes might as well try it.

I wasn't totally impressed with it, I still had to scrub quite a bit, but it did soften things up a little.

Easy Grill Cleaning

We have a little grill that we use all of the time.  Here is a trick that I use to clean it in a matter of a couple of minutes.

I make a ball of aluminum foil.

 Then I rub/scrub the grill with the aluminum foil.  I do it on both sides of the grill.  I position the grill in the sink so all of the gunk that comes off lands in there and I can scoop it up easily with the drain plug.

In a matter of a couple of minutes the grill looked like this. 

May's Monthly Cleaning Goal

Sorry that it has taken me so long to get this up!!  I'm still here :)  We are getting ready to move here in the next month and a half so I will be able to share little tricks I will discover of cleaning things.  Here is April's Cleaning Goal

A trick to Cleaning Blinds

I absolutely hate cleaning blinds.  While we are still renting places it seems to be what they have to cover the windows.  There is a set of blinds in our bathroom, I have no idea how old they are (I think they are old they look yellowish) but the blinds are maybe a 1/2inch thick!  I have come to really dislike cleaning these because there are so many of them!!  Here is a trick that I have found that helps cleaning them.  As I clean each blind I raise the whole blinds to make them come closer together. Then I can kind of push down on the blind and not worry bending or breaking the blinds.

March Cleaning Goal

Here is March's cleaning goal.  I'm sorry that it has taken me until now to put it up.  I haven't been on the computer much lately.

February's Monthly Cleaning Goal

I hope that everyone was able to get last month's goal done, I was able to get 3 out of 4 closets cleaned.  Considering that I lost a week to everyone being sick and taking care of them and me I thought that I did pretty well.  Here is February's cleaning goal and don't forget the weekly ones as well. 

Reminder about the Monthly Cleaning Goal

I'm just reminding everyone that they can find January's Monthly Cleaning Goal and the every week goals here!!!   I have two closets and a dresser done so far.  I have still have a couple of closets, a dresser and a couple of under the beds to do.  Keep knocking away at it.

Getting Pen off of the Wall

Remember this post where I cleaned the stairs for the monthly cleaning goal?  Well about two days later my daughter decided that it was too clean for her and got a hold of a pen and drew lines up the right side of the stairs!!  Life with kids some times I know.  Anyways I had no desire to clean them again but I did some research to give some ideas of how to get it off.  I don't remember if I read it or just thought of it, since you use hairspray that has alcohol in it, why not use rubbing alcohol.  So this past week we have been working with our son on going to sleep on his own, so while I was upstairs waiting for him to go to sleep I tried it out.

    Here is one spot of the wall before. I used a cotton ball with a little bit of rubbing alcohol and it came off immediately!!!!!

AFTER!!!!  I was so excited that it actually worked.  I noticed that about halfway down the wall my fingers were getting a little white, and that I was pushing kind of hard but once I backed off I didn't have problems with paint at all.  I'm not sure how it would work on different colored paint but I'm glad that I was able to get it off so easily.

January's Cleaning Goal

I hope that everyone had a great New Year's Eve/Day.  I know that we did, this was the first year that we really celebrated it with my daughter but her celebration was earlier in the evening but it was still a blast.  Here is this month's cleaning goal, I'm going to hit these goals the next 6 months really hard because we are moving in June and the less I have to clean than the better!!!

It's December already, if you are lucky like me and don't have both a family room and a living room then you get to enjoy this month off.  The rest get it done early to enjoy the holidays.  Have a great month!!!  Here is the goal.

Sorry it has taken me a couple of days to get October's cleaning goal up.  I have been working on a couple of fun projects.  One I will share with you tomorrow, the other one is going to take some time still before I'm completely ready to share it.  Anyways have fun cleaning this month!!!
