Scarecrow/Snowman Wood Project

So a few months ago I saw this pinned all over the place and thought it was really cute.  I decided I would make one for myself.  Mine ended up being a lot bigger then hers but I love how it turned out.  Here is my scarecrow side for the fall.

Here is a close up of the snowman side.

Here is my front porch for the winter.  I love that I am able to get two seasons out of this decoration!!

Yearly Family Ornaments

We have a tradition that every year we take a family picture in front of our Christmas tree.  I decided that I needed to do something special with those pictures and have something that I can add to eat year.  After brainstorming with my mom this is what I came up with.  I bought the plastic clear ornaments and printed off our picture for each year, added a red bow and cut out green vinyl with the year.

Here is where I hung them up.  I wanted some place a bit different then the tree to display them.  Now whoever comes and visits they can see them right when they walk in the house.

Believe Sign

I saw a sign here and I loved it so I thought I would try making it myself.  I haven't had too much success making stencils and wood signs but I did this one differently and it turned out great!

After painting my board with chalk paint and letting it dry.  I cut out my letters using vinyl, (after doing this and some more investigating I read that contact paper works great as well) then using the paint that I used as my base I painted the edges of the letters and let that dry to prevent the new color of paint from bleeding under the stencil.  I then painted my stencil.

Here it is after I removed the stencil. I decided it was a bit too white, so I watered down some brown paint and rubbed it onto my board.  I know there are many ways to make your board look older this is just what I did because it was what I had conveniently located.

2015 Christmas Ties

I'm sorry the quality isn't the best, I took it from my phone quickly but I wanted to show you guys this year's Christmas ties.  I was so excited when I found this fabric this year and my husband and my boys are loving them.

Hot Chocolate Snowmen

I'm so excited to share these with you guys!!  I haven't seen anything like this out here on blogland.  They came out just how I pictured them in my mind.  These were tons of fun to make and easy.

I started with two baby food containers that were 2nd food size and one that was the 1st food size.

I painted the big ones white and the small one black.  I gave them each two coats allowing it to dry completely in between.

Then I painted a face and some buttons.

The containers were then filled with goodies.  I then hot glued the containers together.

The best part was I only had to go buy mini marshmallows, and mini candy canes.  I had everything else so out of pocket expense was about $3 and that will be able to make tons of them to giveaway.
