Boy's Room

Two of my boys share a room and they love the super heroes so of course I had to do something to go with that. Using my cricut I cut out vinyl to use as a stencil.  I cut out their favorite hero's logo, these were about a 2'x3'

Here is the vinyl on the wall, this was a great opportunity to use up scraps of vinyl I had laying around. Next up was painting.
I did have to do a couple of coats to make sure it was covered well.

I added a couple of stripes on each side.  Then hung the artwork that I already had for them.  For Christmas I made them each comforters for their beds to go with their super hero.  I'll show what I did for them on another post.

Believe Sign

I saw a sign here and I loved it so I thought I would try making it myself.  I haven't had too much success making stencils and wood signs but I did this one differently and it turned out great!

After painting my board with chalk paint and letting it dry.  I cut out my letters using vinyl, (after doing this and some more investigating I read that contact paper works great as well) then using the paint that I used as my base I painted the edges of the letters and let that dry to prevent the new color of paint from bleeding under the stencil.  I then painted my stencil.

Here it is after I removed the stencil. I decided it was a bit too white, so I watered down some brown paint and rubbed it onto my board.  I know there are many ways to make your board look older this is just what I did because it was what I had conveniently located.

TV Remote Crate

We seem to always have a problem of where to put our remotes.  Kind of out of frustration of them not having a place I used a crate that we had laying around from buying some oranges and put them in there then it sat like this for a few months.  My husband and I both liked having the crate but I needed it to be a bit nicer looking and without glue on the sides.

So first things first I used a flat head screwdriver and peeled the glue off of both sides of the crate.  I did manage to put quite a few dents in the sides and scraped some skin off of my fingers but it came off.  I'm sure there was a much easier way to do that but that is what I went it.

Then I sanded the sides down a little bit to make it look not so beat up.

I didn't want it a dark brown nor did I want to sit around and stain it, what I ended up doing was mixing some white paint into the brown I had then painted it on both sides.

Next was stenciling the word remotes on each side.

It feels so much better to me when I walk by this now (which is a million times a day)

Merry Christmas shirts

So I have been looking through my files and have found stuff that I did last year for Christmas and I never posted them!!!  Now you get to see them.  These are the Christmas shirts I did last year for the kids.  I did them in the same way that I have done a lot of my shirts on here with the freezer paper. Here are some other shots of the shirts.

The two older kids' shirts.

Here is what I did for the baby's shirt.  I made a tulle skirt to go along with it.

Lucky T-shirt

Since Valentine Day is over, I thought that I would share with you this shirt that I made for my daughter.  I did the freezer paper stenciling and paint.  When my daughter saw it she put it on right away so I guess that is a good sign ;) HookingupwithHoH

Apron for my Hubby

My husband loves to be making something in the kitchen.  So I thought for Christmas I would change up one of his aprons for him.  I used freezer paper for the stencils, and it cost me nothing I had all of the materials.

Golf Club Covers

My Husband got a new set of clubs for his birthday and he asked me if I make him some covers for them.  First I thought yeah that is possible and then I was like yeah I want to so then every time he grabs a club he thinks of me ;)   The stenciling didn't quite turn out the best but that is ok it still serves its purpose.  I don't know much about golfing but I didn't realize that they have so many clubs!!

Handsome Onesie

I found a onesie on a few store websites that said "i'm handsome just like my dad"  I thought that they were cute.  I had an extra onesie that I had bought and couldn't figure out exactly what I wanted to put on it.  I knew that this is what I wanted to do.

I cut it out with the cricut on freezer paper, then ironed it onto the onesie.

Then I painted it and let it dry.

The finished onesie.
