Necklace Holder

Okay so confession time.....I have an addiction to Paparazzi Jewelry.  If you haven't tried it you should!!  It isn't expensive and it is cute!!!  So......because of my addiction, I have run out of space. I was getting tired of my necklaces getting all tangled up and I couldn't see all that I had. I decided to do something about it. This is what I came up with.

It started with me asking my husband to cut me an 18" long piece of wood. Then I stained it.

It's kind of hard to see, but after the stain dried I marked out dots evenly for the hooks to go, I marked every inch and half.

To make it easier to screw the hooks into the board I made a little hole in each spot that I marked.

After screwing in each of the hooks, I added the vinyl and a couple of hangers on the back of the board.

The finished product!!!! I love it!

Boy's Room

Two of my boys share a room and they love the super heroes so of course I had to do something to go with that. Using my cricut I cut out vinyl to use as a stencil.  I cut out their favorite hero's logo, these were about a 2'x3'

Here is the vinyl on the wall, this was a great opportunity to use up scraps of vinyl I had laying around. Next up was painting.
I did have to do a couple of coats to make sure it was covered well.

I added a couple of stripes on each side.  Then hung the artwork that I already had for them.  For Christmas I made them each comforters for their beds to go with their super hero.  I'll show what I did for them on another post.

Book Bag

I saw something similar to this saying on a shirt online somewhere and knew that I needed to make something for me with it on it.  A new book bag is exactly what I needed!  This also would be a great teacher gift or for your friends that love to read.  I bought the bag at Hobby Lobby and then used heat transfer vinyl to put the design on it.

Yearly Family Ornaments

We have a tradition that every year we take a family picture in front of our Christmas tree.  I decided that I needed to do something special with those pictures and have something that I can add to eat year.  After brainstorming with my mom this is what I came up with.  I bought the plastic clear ornaments and printed off our picture for each year, added a red bow and cut out green vinyl with the year.

Here is where I hung them up.  I wanted some place a bit different then the tree to display them.  Now whoever comes and visits they can see them right when they walk in the house.

Believe Sign

I saw a sign here and I loved it so I thought I would try making it myself.  I haven't had too much success making stencils and wood signs but I did this one differently and it turned out great!

After painting my board with chalk paint and letting it dry.  I cut out my letters using vinyl, (after doing this and some more investigating I read that contact paper works great as well) then using the paint that I used as my base I painted the edges of the letters and let that dry to prevent the new color of paint from bleeding under the stencil.  I then painted my stencil.

Here it is after I removed the stencil. I decided it was a bit too white, so I watered down some brown paint and rubbed it onto my board.  I know there are many ways to make your board look older this is just what I did because it was what I had conveniently located.

Watermelon Cards

My daughter and I made these last week, when we were reviewing the letter w.  I cut them out with my cricut and she glued them together.  She thought it was so cool.  Now she is having fun writing notes in them to send to people.

Mother's Day Boxes

I borrowed my mom's cartridge called "Mother's Day Bouquet"  to play with and this is one of the projects that I came up with.  I made these to give to my Visiting Teaching ladies this past week.  I added a quote from Sis. Beck's talk title "Mother's Who Know"

Valentines Door

I did this cute door for my kids, using my Cricut and my Simply Charmed cartridge.  It adds some more festiveness (is that even a word :) ) to the house.

Chore Chart

I told you yesterday that I have been working on a couple of projects well here is one of them.  I finally got my cartridge that has been all of the country because I forgot to double check the shipping address.  It's call "Chore Chart."   Well I spent yesterday playing with it and my cricut and this is what  I made:

The chores are going to be attached with velcro once I get them at the store then when my daughter does one of the chores for the day she can remove it and bring it to me or my husband for us to double check she has done it.  If all of the squares are off on Saturday then she gets a prize.  It was fun to make and I hope that it works out for us. lil luna link party buttonHookingupwithHoH Somewhat Simple

Handmade Cards

The other day I was tell my mom that I needed to go buy some thank you cards.  She then reminded me that I have a cricut I could make them myself.  Thank you Mom!! I totally didn't even think about that!!  Here are some of the cards that I came up with:

I ran out of glue so I found a glue stick that was blue.  I wasn't thinking completely and used it because I was glue and was thinking that all glue sticks dried clear. Boy was I wrong!!!  Look at what happened with these:

Birthday Party!!

We had a few friends over for my daughter's birthday, I decided this afternoon that I wanted some kind of banner up, so I pulled out my Cricut really fast and made this:

I made her cake.  She requested a Princess cake, if I wasn't so pregnant I would have done more for the cake but I still like how it turned out.

During the day she got into the cake!!  It is amazing to me how she decided to pick at it and how its completely not like what most kids do!  She took a chunk out of in between every picture.

Remember the crowns that I made here.  Here is the birthday girl showing off her crown.
