Little Things around the Kitchen

A few things that I did that really helped out in the kitchen and the feeling in it.  One was this find that I saw at Goodwill I think it was around a dollar.

The colors that I decided to go with was black, grayish and silver.  We have a knife holder that was given to us when we got married, it was wood I decided I didn't want it that color anymore.  So I bought some black spray paint at Lowe's for around $2 and had some fun.

First I taped everything off and took a trip outside.

This was a learning experience for me I was spraying it on too thick so it started dripping off of the knife holder.  So I had to sand it down a little bit then tried it again the right way.

The next goal is to get new canisters that are either stainless steel or glass.  Mostly anything would be better then those plastic ones, but I do love how much they hold!!

I have then since added a silver B vinyl on the front of the knife block.

  3. I did the same thing today!! small world I guess! I don't remember where exactly I first saw it but it is definitly better then the plain wood block and everthing in my kitchen is black so I just had to do it. Just an FYI- there is spray paint that you can buy that is supposed to be "no run" the cheap stuff works fine though if you remember to spray lightly and slowly and do multiple coats :)
