Banana Bread

I had some bananas that were getting too ripe.  So I decided to make some banana bread, my grandma gave me this recipe and its one that she has been using for years.

Sift together in large bowl:
1-1/4c flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4tsp baking soda
1/2tsp salt
2/3c sugar

Add:
1/3c soft butter (can be melted)
2 eggs
1/2 c chopped nuts
1 c mashed bananas

Put bananas and eggs into the blender for a few seconds, add to batter with melted or room temperature butter.  Pour mixture into dry ingredients mix well together.  Pour into greased pan.  Bake at 350 degree about a hour or until done.

Mailbox for Love Notes

I made this for my husband for Valentines day but this is a great present for your anniversary as well or just for fun as well.  I found the mailbox at Hobby Lobby then painted it the same colors that we have in our room.  I made a little note saying that I will put things in it for him and put the flag up.  It has been tons of fun to have going on.  My husband has been doing stuff back and putting them in the mailbox as well.

Garden Update

I promised that I would show you want our garden looks like now and what we have done.  We live in an apartment so we don't have a yard really to plant a garden.  So for my birthday my dad bought me a few grow boxes.  (He is awesome!!)  I was able to get all of the plants into the grow boxes and they have just taken off and with all of the rain that we have gotten lately I haven't even had to water them.

There are peas and pumpkins in this one.

The peas have pods set on them, I'm so excited to start picking them soon.

Our pepper plants that have survived!

This box has peas, a green bean plant and a pumpkin plant.
