Magazine Holders

I have been wanting to make some of my own magazine holders for a long time.  I have seen ideas using cereal boxes, and other stuff.  We were cleaning the house the other day and I saw a one of those flat rate boxes waiting to go out to the trash, I thought why not use that and I can get two of them!

The next thought was what do I actually want to cover them with, I looked at my scrapbooking paper and my fabric there wasn't anything that was really jumping out at me.  Then my amazing husband mention why not do what you did with the music box from Here  I looked through my music for more copies that I made and should have destroyed and began tearing it into pieces.

I drew out what I wanted them to look like on both sides of the box. Then began to cut along the line, I would suggest to use an utility knife, we have one but it doesn't have a blade right now, so I had to use scissors, either way be careful!

This is after I cut them.

I got out my torn pieces of music, mod podge and brush.  I decided to start on the edges first I did both of them at the same time, so allow the mod podge to dry on one while I worked on other.

I didn't go very far down inside because I figured that it would be covered by magazines or what I decide to put in them.

I then continued to cover both them completely with the music and then one last coat of mod podge to seal everything.

I didn't check before I did it to see if it fit the magazines exactly but I'm okay with it, one of them will have my magazines and the other will have other stuff but I still love how they turned out.

The Shelf Fell Down!!

Remember this picture from redo doing the master bedroom.  In the middle of the night a couple of months ago the shelf fell!! It scared me pretty good I had no idea what had happen or what was going on.  I figured out that the wall was more white then it usually is, we got up and figured out what happened.  In the morning this is what the wall looked like.

All over the floor was pieces of shattered Willowtree figurines.  We picked up most of them and put them in one spot this is what it looked like:

This is how we came up with the Willowtree Massacre, three of the figurines broke apart.  But the other three managed to escape without damage.

I sat down with the super glue and glued them all back together the best that I could even with the little tiny pieces.  Two of them looked like they are ok and don't look bad at all, but one of them didn't fair as well, it will have to be replaced.

This one is going to have to be replaced :(

Easter Egg Mini Pots

Everything that I used to make these came from the dollar store.  I bought the little clay pots that come in a three pack, some of that green foam that you put flowers into, moss and these way cute eggs.  The paint I already had, and with my glue gun I went to work.
